When it comes to outdoor structures, weather resistance is not just a bonus—it's essential. At AlunoTec, we've engineered our aluminum pergolas to perform under real-world conditions, not just in theory. To validate this, we partnered with Intertek, a globally recognized third-party testing and certification agency, to conduct rigorous performance tests in three critical areas: waterproofing, wind resistance, and snow load capacity.
Rain? No problem.
Intertek performed pressure tests simulating three levels of rainfall intensity:
0.1 MPa (light rain)
0.15 MPa (moderate rain)
0.2 MPa (heavy rain equivalent)
All tests were successfully passed, with no leakage detected. The results prove the outstanding sealing performance of our integrated louver and drainage system.
To simulate hurricane-level conditions, Intertek subjected the pergola to wind speeds of 167 km/h, equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane.
The result:
No structural damage, no deformation.
This confirms AlunoTec pergolas are engineered to stand strong, even in extreme weather zones.
In cold climates, snow accumulation is a major concern. Intertek applied a load of 204 kg/m² to the roof structure—equivalent to around 40 cm of heavy wet snow.
Measured heights:
Before loading: 2.424 m
During loading: 2.407 m
After unloading: 2.422 m
The difference of just 2 mm proves the structure’s outstanding resilience and load recovery.
AlunoTec pergolas aren't just built to look great—they're scientifically tested and Intertek-certified to perform in all kinds of weather. Whether you're facing rainstorms, strong winds, or heavy snow, trust AlunoTec to deliver strength, style, and safety all year round.
